RESEARCH VERSION 3 NOW AVAILABLE. This is a very powerful ad hoc research tool. At the very least it gives a utility that provides the user with general picture recognition when searching against your own pictures. If you join the picture acquisition scheme you can then build up professional relationships with other researchers. Research Version Connect with other researchers in your field or other fields that are useful to your research. To obtain a COPY OF THE PICTURE RECOGNITION SOFTWARE FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES YOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO SHOW ONE OF THE FOLLOWING. You hold a PHD, Dr, Masters or Other Research Qualification OR you work for a university or company that does research. To get a copy of the software if you hold a PhD, DR or Masters you need to show proof of that qualification say a copy of your certificate via E-mail OR be able to show that you work in a certain University and give details of research area and department with a copy of headed note paper from that establishment. If you are a company that researches a certain area please give a copy of your companies headed note paper explaining the research your involved in. These checks may seem a little over the top but this software is dedicated to research only. SECURITY Picture acquisition is perfectly secure because at no point ever are any pictures ever past from one location to another location. All the system does is tell the user who else in the world has a similar picture on their computer, it will only do this with the permission of the owner of that picture or pictorial file. If you wish to get hold of that picture you will have to use the contact E-Mail etc. given by the other user (owner of the picture). You can then E-Mail and ask for the requested picture or pictorial document. Of-course they can always refuse this request therefore security is always protected at all times. This is not just about exchanging pictures you can just discuss ideas and methods etc. PICTURE ACQUISITION Whenever the software looks for a picture it stores in the standard version some information about the picture it has found in quark files. For instance the shape, colour etc. In the research version you can AGREE (NOT COMPULSORY) to store personal information in these quark files for instance your NAME, E-MAIL, FILENAME. Research quark files are separate from normal quark files and can only be accessed by people around the world involved in research. This means that the person allocated to use the software will have access eventually to millions of previously searched picture or picture documents.
POWERFUL TECHNOLOGY Whenever someone else around the world searches for a similar picture (THESE CAN INCLUDE SCANNED IN DOCUMENTS PICTURES AS WELL AS ORDINARY PICTURES) it will tell that person who else around the world may have the SAME or VERY CLOSE MATCHING DOCUMENT OR PICTURES.) For any researcher who deal with lots of pictorial documents or pictures there will be a huge advantage if you can find out who else as the same pictorial file maybe on another computer even if they are in another geographical location or country. Therefore if you are looking for a certain picture or pictorial document on your computer the software will tell you who else may have a very similar or exact picture you are searching. THE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SOFTWARE IS THAT THERE WOULD BE NO OTHER WAY OF FINDING THAT PICTURE IF SAY IT WAS IN ANOTHER PHYSICAL LOCATION, THIS SOFTWARE WOULD BE THE ONLY SOFTWARE THAT COULD POSSIBLY ACHIEVE THIS TYPE OF ACCESS. The other advantage is that you can then contact that person directly via E-Mail asking them about similar pictures to you. This will help you build up new relationships with people researching maybe in the same area or similar areas. You can set the category you wish to search. For instance if you are researching pictures of say cancer. You can also use sub categories like cancer, subcategory cells. However leaving sub categories general will give others more hits. INTERNET OR LOCAL Anytime someone searches for any picture using this software a quark record of each file that is searched and matches a certain criteria is kept. These files are used to link up add hoc scattered information, this information is add hoc it would not normally be located in any other way. The software uses quark files stored in two different locations. Local Quark files are stored on your local harddrive and only store analysis information that it finds from previous local searches. However to take advantage of previous searches that others researchers around the world have made you need to use quark files stored on the Internet. If you have an Internet connection this side of the software is automatic in other words the software controls the whole process. POWERFUL TOOL It is surprising how many people in the world hold similar picture forms or pictures in a picture file like gif, jpg, tiff etc. This system can end up acting like a repository of information that would normally be unavailable to a research organisation or body because the way most files end up being distributed. Over time this system could accumulate and have knowledge about every picture on every computer within the RESEARCH WORLD. Also pictures are often stored and completely forgot about over time or employees have left and the pictorial document or picture completely forgot about. This software can really help find documents used in the past but now forgot about. CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY The technology incorporates, PICTURE RECOGNITION, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, REAL LEARNING, AUTONOMOUS LEARNING, AND PICTURE ACQUISITION in a simple to use interface that any end user can use. This cutting edge software changes the way we think about pictures and pictorial documents. There is no such thing as 100% accuracy in picture recognition unless the picture is an exact copy. This software is accurate in terms of general picture recognition that is considered impossible. Some types of pictures are easier for the software to identify. Usually but not always the more going on in a picture the more difficult it is to get a match. You may consider that some pictures have nothing to do with the original picture being searched. But if you stop and really think about colour shape etc. it is more easy to understand why the software has selected that picture. The software has built in ranges that can be pre-set by the user for instance it has a wide range that will pick up two pictures with any type of similarity and narrower or close ranges that pick up more similar pictures. JOINING THE PICTURE ACQUISITION SCHEME There is no obligation to join the picture acquisition scheme you can just use the quark files to help improve the way the software finds local or pictures held on any network drives. To join the picture acquisition scheme you have to turn it on and setup your Name, E-mail address etc. If you do not do this then others will not know that you may have similar picture files or the same picture. However you can still benefit by using their previous searches to improve your future search results. If you expect to find others involved in the scheme then please join the acquisition scheme because if nobody joins it will be impossible to connect with others. LIMITATIONS There are some limitations to the system for instance you will need to have an on-line Internet connection. Please note that checks will be made into the status of an organization prior to agreeing to release the RESEARCH version of this software because of the powerful nature of the software and because it is only for researchers. Other limitations; you may find that it takes some time to find others researching a similar area. Please be patient the more you use the software once you join the acquisition scheme the more chance others will do the same. QUARK FILE TAGS Not only will you be able to find appropriate pictorial files but you will be able to find out what that pictorial file actually is because you can do the following within the software. Say you are looking for a particular "chemical" you can put in the chemical type and enter general in the sub categories and it will find pictures of that chemical that have already been searched for. You can also add a description when adding a picture to search against. Testing that the software is working correctly: Once you have installed the software onto your computer download the following Zip file containing pictures of lighthouses. 1) Put it in a folder. It should find the lighthouses in the folder and provide you with my Name and E-mail address. This will indicate to you that I have pictures of lighthouses on my computer and have an Interest in that area. There is only one test sample within the research general picture recognition software this is because other samples should contain the area of research that you are involved in or interested in. |
