Professional Version

The professional version is the same as the standard version but with one big innovation over the standard version that is designed for business use over standard personal use. The innovation is PICTURE ACQUISITION.

PICTURE ACQUISITION

Whenever the software looks for a picture it stores in the standard version some information about the picture it has found in quark files. For instance the shape, colour etc. In the professional version ONLY you can AGREE (NOT COMPULSORY) to store personal information in these quark files for instance your NAME, E-MAIL, FILENAME, COMPANY IDENTIFIER. A company quark files are separate from normal quark files and can only be accessed by people in a certain organizations. This means that the person allocated to use the software can have access eventually to millions of previously searched picture or picture documents.

POWERFUL TECHNOLOGY

Whenever someone else in your company searches for a similar picture (THESE CAN INCLUDE SCANNED IN DOCUMENTS PICTURES AS WELL AS ORDINARY PICTURES) it will tell that person who else in the organization may have the SAME or VERY CLOSE MATCHING DOCUMENT OR PICTUREs.) For any organization who deal with lots of pictorial documents or pictures there will be a huge advantage if you can find out who else as the same pictorial file maybe on another computer even if they are part of your organization but in another geographical location. Therefore if you are looking for a certain picture or pictorial document on your computer the software will tell you who else may have a very similar or exact picture you are searching for but cannot find. THE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SOFTWARE IS THAT THERE WOULD BE NO OTHER WAY OF FINDING THAT PICTURE IF SAY IT WAS IN ANOTHER PHYSICAL LOCATION, THIS SOFTWARE WOULD BE THE ONLY SOFTWARE THAT COULD POSSIBLY ACHIEVE THIS TYPE OF ACCESS. This along with all the other IT resouces like databases etc helps to find information normally unavailable to the end user.

INTERNET OR LOCAL

Anytime someone searches for any picture using this software a quark record of each file that is searched and matches a certain criteria is kept. These files are used to link up add hoc scattered information, this information is add hoc it would not normally be located in any other way.

The software uses quark files stored in two different locations. Local Quark files are stored on your local harddrive and only store analysis information that it finds from previous local searches. However to take advantage of previous searches that others in the organization have made you need to use quark files stored on the Internet. If you have an Internet connection this side of the software is automatic in other words the software controls the whole process.

SECURITY

Picture acquisition is perfectly secure because at no point ever are any pictures ever past from one location to another location. All the system does is tell the user who else in the organization has a similar picture on their computer, it will only do this with the permission of the owner of that picture or pictorial file. If you wish to get hold of that picture you will have to use the contact e-mail etc given by the other user (owner of the picture). You can then E-mail and ask for the requested picture or pictorial document. Of-course they can always refuse this request therefore security is always protected at all times.

POWERFUL TOOL

It is surprising how many people in any organization hold similar forms or pictures in a picture file like gif,jpg,tiff etc. This system can end up acting like a repository of information that would normally be unavailable to an organization because the way most files end up being distributed. The information would continue to grow over time and tasking a single person to organize some of the more popular areas of the organization into the system would increase its overall beneficial use. However over time this system could accumulate and have knowledge about every picture on every computer within the organizations. The benefits to this could be huge and cutting time and cost of replication etc. Also pictures are often stored and completely forgot about over time or employees have left and the pictorial document or picture completely forgot about. This software can really help find documents used in the past but now forgot about.

JOINING THE PICTURE ACQUISITION SCHEME

There is no obligation to join the picture acquisition scheme you can just use the quark files to help improve the way the software finds local or pictures held on any network drives. To join the picture acquisition scheme you have to turn it on and setup your Name, E-mail address etc. If you do not do this then others will not know that you may have similar picture files or the same file. However you can still benefit by using their previous searches to improve your future search results.

LIMITATIONS

Please note that checks will be made into the status of an organization prior to agreeing to release the professional version of this software because of the powerful nature of this software.

However for personal use please download from this web-site the standard version of the software that has all the benefits of the professional version but does not have picture acquisition that would not be required anyway outside of an organization.

QUARK FILE TAGS

Not only will you be able to find appropriate pictorial files but you will be able to find out what that pictorial file actually is because you can do the following within the software. Say you are looking for a particular CAR you can put in that is a CAR and then put into the sub category FORD then subcategory again ESCORT. Therefore you can really detail the category of the car. This is good when using certain forms for instance say your using a form in a group called G1GROUP and the name of the form is say M23453 form you can subgroup any form or picture. Alternatively you can just make it a general picture say Car and leave the sub categories general. This will find all cars that are closely matched to the car you are searching for through out the organization.
